Privacy policy

engagePLUS is a survey platform run by Industrial Psychology Consultants. This explains what we collect, why we hold it, who can see it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who this covers

Three different people use engagePLUS, and what we hold differs for each.

  • People answering a survey. Employees of an organisation that has asked us to run one, or anyone taking part in the national survey.
  • Client organisations. The people at a client who sign in to read results and plan what to do about them.
  • Visitors to this website. Anyone reading the public pages, writing a review or sending an enquiry.

If you are answering a survey

Your answers are separated from your identity. We are sent a list of people to invite, and we use an email address once — to send you a link. Your answers are stored against that invitation rather than against your name, and the reports your employer receives are built from the answers.

Small groups are not reported on. A survey can be set so that any group below a minimum size is left out of the breakdowns entirely, because a department of three is not anonymous however the figures are labelled. Whether that minimum is set, and what it is, is your employer’s choice — ask them.

Free-text comments are shown as written. If you type something that identifies you, it will be readable. We do not edit comments before they reach your employer.

We hold your answers for as long as your employer keeps its account with us, because year-on-year comparison is the point of running the survey again.

If you are a client organisation

We hold the names and work email addresses of people you ask us to give access to, the participant lists you upload, the responses collected on your behalf, and the reports and action plans built from them. Your results are visible to your own users and to the IPC consultants working with you.

Where results feed the national benchmark, they do so as aggregate figures — a national score per dimension and per sector. No other client can see your organisation’s results, and the benchmark does not identify participating organisations.

If you are visiting this website

Enquiries. What you type into the contact form — your name, email address, organisation if you give one, and your message — is stored so it is not lost, and emailed to us so we can reply. Replying is the only thing we use it for.

Reviews. If you write one, we hold your name, job title, organisation and what you wrote. Nothing appears on the site until a consultant has read and approved it. A review that is approved is published with your name, job title and organisation beside it. We do not ask for your email address.

If you would like a published review taken down, write to us and we will remove it.

Who else can see any of this

We use other companies to run the platform: a hosting provider for the servers and databases, and an email provider to deliver invitations, reminders and notifications. They process this information on our instructions and for no purpose of their own.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Keeping it safe

Access is by individual account. Client accounts see only their own organisation’s data, and the platform enforces that rather than relying on people to be careful. Traffic between your browser and the platform is encrypted.

No system is perfect, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. If something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.

What you can ask us for

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to the address at the foot of this page and we will respond.

One limit worth being straight about: survey answers are held separately from the identities they came from, which is what makes them confidential. That also means we often cannot reliably pick out one person’s answers in order to delete them. Where that is the case, we will say so rather than pretend otherwise.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell the organisations using the platform.
